Personalized Homeschool Coaching

 Real Support for Real-Life Learning

Homeschooling is a journey that’s deeply personal, often
challenging, and always evolving. It can be overwhelming—balancing multiple
needs, finding the right methods, and feeling confident in your decisions. If
you’re feeling uncertain about whether you’re “doing enough” or wonder how to
balance the needs of multiple kids with your own goals, you’re not alone.

I’ve been there, and I can help.

My coaching provides you with practical solutions to these
challenges, helping you create a homeschool experience that’s fulfilling for
your children and sustainable for you.

Hi, I'm Shari

I’m a secular homeschooling mom and taught my three kids K-12. I developed a system of learn by doing, integrated with compassionate teaching and lessons in fundamental subjects and skills. I call it The Independent Learner Framework. It's adaptable and can be used for any age and stage kids are at.

I have over 16 years of homeschooling experience and a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology and 20+ years as an educator.

My three kids are all young adults now—capable, kind people with whom I have strong relationships.

I started Quest Schooling because I missed homeschooling my kids and felt that the teaching strategies and learning frameworks I developed would help other parents and teachers educate their kids.

Fun fact about me: I used to be the executive director of a fair trade company with an office in Jaipur, India. Our family traveled frequently between our home in Chapel Hill, NC, and India during my kids’ childhoods. I know what it’s like to juggle many commitments and stay focused.
We did worldschooling and project-based learning while staying in India, too.

My homeschool coaching offers practical, personalized guidance grounded in a deep understanding of how kids learn. My goal is to help you homeschool with confidence, clarity, and creativity.

Success StorySadie’s Journey

One of my students, Sadie, had been labeled with numerous
learning disabilities in traditional school. Her mom had tried homeschooling when she was a young teen, but Sadie still struggled. She faced tremendous
challenges and had zero confidence or enthusiasm. When I started working with her, she was 15, disengaged, disheartened, and didn’t care.

I initially struggled to find a way to connect with Sadie
until I chose to discard conventional expectations. I focused on helping Sadie
become an active learner using project-based learning and a personalized,
self-paced approach. She started building confidence, learning problem-solving
strategies, and even set goals for herself. Together, we created a roadmap tailored to her strengths, and over time, she achieved milestones that once seemed unreachable, including earning a job certification before turning eighteen.

Sadie’s journey taught me the power of meeting each learner where they are—a philosophy I bring to every coaching session.
