Raise a Confident, Independent Learner  With Real-World Learning Skills That Actually Stick

Your Child Can Learn to Focus, Follow Through, and Stay Motivated—

Without Bribes, Battles, or Burnout

Does your child struggle with focus, follow-through, or
staying engaged in learning?

Are you tired of reminding them… again and again?

You’re not alone—and it’s not your fault.

Most kids never get taught how to learn.

They’re given assignments, but not the strategies to understand, remember, or
apply what they’ve learned.

Here’s how I can help.

With 25 years as an educator, learning coach, and mom of
three independent learners, I help parents like you:

✅ Build your child’s confidence and motivation
✅ Teach real-world learning skills—executive function, study habits, curiosity
✅ Turn resistance into engagement using Learning by Doing

Together, we’ll create a plan that works for your unique
child—so learning becomes active, meaningful, and even fun again. 🌟

Whether you homeschool or not, I’ll help you teach your
child how to learn more effectively—

🌟 so they can thrive in school, work, and life. 🌟

Hi, I'm Shari Keller

Learning Coach, Educator, and Parent Mentor

I help parents teach their kids the skills behind learning—so your child can become a confident, independent thinker.

I’m a cultural anthropologist, a learning skills coach, and a mom of three kids who I homeschooled from kindergarten through high school.

They’re now thriving young adults, but it wasn’t always smooth sailing. My journey started when my bright, energetic son shut down in traditional school after just two months of kindergarten.
He lost his spark—so I stepped in.

I didn’t just want to “keep up with school.”

I wanted to help my kids love learning and think for themselves.

Over the next 16 years, I created a framework that combines real-world projects, executive function skills, curiosity-driven learning, and compassionate mentorship.

Today, I coach other parents how to do the same.

Whether your child is homeschooled or goes to school, I’ll help you teach them how to learn effectively—so they stay curious, gain confidence, and develop the skills to succeed in anything they want to pursue.

What I Believe

I believe every child can become a confident, independent learner—when they’re taught how to learn, not just what to learn.

I believe kids need time to process, explore, and try things out. They need mentors who listen, encourage, and guide—not just instructors who tell them what to do.

And I believe learning should be active, not passive.

When kids engage with real ideas, apply what they learn through projects and challenges, and get the support they need to stay focused and organized—they not only learn better, they love learning.

That’s what builds true confidence—and that’s what I help you unlock.

Who I Work With

I work with parents and educators who want to raise kids who own their learning—whether they homeschool, attend school, or follow a hybrid path.

If you’re tired of constant reminders, resistance, or learning that just doesn’t seem to stick—I can help.

I coach parents to support their kids in building real study skills, executive function habits, and learning strategies that work in the real world.

My approach is rooted in brain science, child development, and over two decades of experience—and it’s designed to help your child become focused, motivated, and more independent, step by step.

You don’t have to do more.

You just need the right tools and a framework that meets your child where they are.

The Independent Learner Framework

Whether your child is struggling, neurodivergent, resistant,
or just needs better tools—I’ll show you how to coach them toward independence
using my Learning Skills Toolkit, personalized coaching, and a
framework grounded in research and real-life experience.

Through my Learning How to Learn—By Doing™ framework,
I coach families to build the foundational skills behind all academic success:

✅ Study strategies that work

✅ Executive function habits that stick

✅ Motivation without nagging or bribes

✅ Real-world learning that connects the dots

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You just need simple,
doable strategies that help your child make progress—and feel proud of it.

A holistic approach...

Education
Should Be Centered on Your Child

Your child’s learning should fit them—not the other way around.

I believe in blending life and learning—because kids soak up knowledge from everything: books, nature, technology, art, and hands-on play.

My approach nurtures both the mind and heart, making space for curiosity, creativity, movement, and exploration—so learning feels natural, joyful, and meaningful.

Child-Centered Learning

Kids Are People First

Every child is naturally curious and driven to learn—in their own way, at their own pace.

My mission is simple: help kids become the best version of themselves by honoring their unique learning styles, interests, and rhythms.

When we adapt learning to fit the child—instead of the other way around—we create an education that’s personal, supportive, and truly effective.

Real-World Learning

Kids Are Always Learning

Learning doesn’t just happen in textbooks and worksheets—it happens everywhere.

Through real-life experiences, hands-on projects, and community involvement, kids absorb knowledge in ways that feel natural and meaningful.

Education is about balance—building strong academic skills while also developing real-world abilities like creative thinking, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

When kids learn by doing, exploring, and asking questions, they grow into confident, capable learners—ready for anything.

Active Learning

Learning Should Be Hands-On and Meaningful ✅

Kids learn best when they do, explore, and connect what they’re learning to real life.
That’s why I focus on active learning—turning “book learning” into real-world experiences.

Building Critical Thinking and Independence ✅

Kids thrive when they develop critical thinking skills, independence, and a love of learning.

Through engaging projects, hands-on exploration, and an “I can” mindset, they gain the confidence to learn and grow on their own terms.

Family Involvement and Mentoring

Your Relationship with Your Child Shapes Their Learning 🌟

As parents, we’re more than just teachers—we’re mentors. When we guide, support, and encourage, we help our kids build confidence, stay curious, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Social Skills and Community Matter 🌟

Kids grow socially through collaborative learning, real-world experiences, and mixed-age interactions.

By giving them opportunities to learn in different environments, we help them build empathy, communication skills, and a strong sense of community—preparing them for life, not just school.

Secular, Inclusive, Child-Centered

The resources here are for everyone—secular, inclusive, and adaptable to both traditional and non-traditional schooling approaches.

With a child-centered approach, parents and teachers become mentors, guiding kids to take ownership of their learning

so they grow into confident, independent learners.
