This project focuses on recycling, upcycling, repurposing, and design, seamlessly integrating environmental stewardship with entrepreneurial skills.
Objective:
The primary goal is to guide learners in applying upcycling principles to design a multifunctional eco-creative space that incorporates both artistic and sustainable elements. Learners will integrate environmental awareness into their creative and entrepreneurial business decision-making processes.

Learner Decision-Making:
Learners will be empowered to make decisions regarding the layout, design, purpose, community involvement, and functionality of the eco-creative space. They will decide on the types of scraps and materials to be used, ensuring that their choices align with sustainability, business, and community engagement goals.
Learner Inquiry:
Through inquiry-based learning, learners will explore different upcycling techniques and seek creative solutions to design challenges. The project encourages learners to ask questions about the lifecycle of materials and the broader implications of their creative decisions.
Feedback and Revisions:

Published Product:
At the culmination of the project, learners will choose how to present their entrepreneurial journey. Options include product design, website building, a design challenge, or a community involvement project. These choices foster creativity and allow learners to showcase their newfound knowledge and skills.
How to Use:
The project includes 19 activities that can be printed and organized into a binder or stapled together. Scaffolding information, including vocabulary, facts, reading lists, and weblinks, is available at any stage. Colored pencils, markers, and crayons are encouraged to enhance the visual appeal of project materials. Resources such as the internet, textbooks, maps, and peer collaboration will help learners successfully complete their projects.

In project based learning, each student completes both the project activities and a final project. I always offer a choice of final projects to provide differentiation and give students of different skills enough options.

Most projects include a rubric to help you assess your students work and give your student an opportunity to assess their own work. However, each student's project will be unique to them and be a reflection of their knowledge and skill set. There is no one 'right answer' to a project. The success of a project is largely in the process of doing the project.
