A Simple, Low-Prep Way to Engage Your Students & Build Independence

Project Quest:

A Shortcut System for Project-Based Learning That Actually Works

Without curriculum overhauls, endless prep, or student confusion—so you can confidently use real-world projects to build student independence.

PBL improves long-term retention
and engagement

“Students in project-based classrooms significantly
outperformed those in traditional settings on standardized AP tests, and the
gains were especially large for students from lower-income backgrounds.” -Lucas
Education Research, “Project-Based Learning Improves Student Performance on AP Exams,” 2021

“Only 40% of U.S. high school graduates are adequately prepared for college and careers—especially in terms of critical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to work independently.” -Achieve.org, “Rising to the Challenge,” 2014

“More than 65% of teachers say they want more training in how
to help students take ownership of their learning through project-based
strategies, but feel overwhelmed by how to start.” -Education Week Research
Center, “Teachers and PBL Survey Results,” 2020

These numbers show why more
teachers are turning to structured, real-world project-based learning—and why
this training matters now more than ever.

Hi, I'm Shari

I'm the founder of Quest Schooling, educator, secular homeschool parent of three, and former academic with 20+ years of experience helping students learn by doing.

For the past 16 years, I’ve homeschooled my own kids (now thriving young adults!) using real-world, project-based learning to build independence, confidence, and meaningful
academic growth. I now coach both homeschool parents and teachers to use low-prep, high-impact projects that engage kids—without burning out.

I’ve shared my work with homeschool
communities, microschools, and networks like the VELA Education Fund, at the SHAPE Homeschool Conference, and in my e-book A Beginner’s Guide to Project-Based Learning.

I created this workshop to help educators like you ditch the overwhelm and get started with PBL the simple, smart way—because once you get the right structure, everything changes.

Success StorySadie’s Journey

One of my students, Sadie, had been labeled with numerous
learning disabilities in traditional school. Her mom had tried homeschooling when she was a young teen, but Sadie still struggled. She faced tremendous challenges and had zero confidence or enthusiasm. When I started working with her, she was 15, disengaged, disheartened, and didn’t care.

I initially struggled to find a way to connect with Sadie until I chose to discard conventional expectations. I focused on helping Sadie become an active learner using project-based learning and a personalized, self-paced approach. She started building confidence, learning problem-solving strategies, and even set goals for herself. Together, we created a roadmap tailored to her strengths, and over time, she achieved milestones that once seemed unreachable, including earning a job certification before turning eighteen.

Sadie’s journey taught me the power of meeting each learner where they are—a philosophy I bring to every coaching session.
